"Art is contemplation. It is the pleasure of the mind which searches into nature and which there divines the spirit of which nature herself is animated." Auguste Rodin

The series Her expands on the series One. It removes the human reference from Nature’s landscape so as to evoke the very essence of life and creativity that Nature embodies.  Abstract art, better than figurative art, conveys the notion of oneness of all that underlies our physical world; it challenges boundaries, rigid forms, and constructs, and reinforces the idea that what is, is largely unknowable and escapes human language and definitions. In the series Her, Bentz’s aesthetic choice consists of using small abstract fragments that, in the flow of creativity, fuse and become organized into a coherent mosaic-like ensemble. This process of creation translates Bentz’s view of life as a phenomenon of interwoven and interconnected seemingly separate particles or events coexisting chaotically within the coherent, orderly whole. The series honors HER, Nature, the ultimate creator.
